What Does It Mean to be a Part of a Co-op?
Being part of a co-operative preschool means you are choosing to be involved in your child’s first educational experience.
Our parents and caregivers offer the Preschool a wide variety of skills and talents. Mother Goose parents manage the business of the school. We attend meetings and can choose to volunteer on the executive board, in a committee position or by performing smaller tasks like laundry, groceries or repairs and maintenance. Having a child attend Mother Goose means that each parent is keen to ensure the preschool is being run well. As such, we are offering the best setting for our children. Families are encouraged to become as involved as their time permits and to enjoy being part of the Mother Goose community.
Parents may also choose and are encouraged to volunteer in the classroom on a monthly basis. Our volunteers are valuable on a number of fronts; not only are parents able to observe their child’s development in a setting outside the home but they see how teachers handle a variety of emotional experiences in the classroom. This can serve to enhance and develop existing parenting skills.

“Mother Goose was a great introduction for our family into the neighbourhood. It allowed us to meet other families, and for my children to meet future school friends. The co-operative part of Mother Goose gave me the best of both worlds in that my children had the opportunity to be independent from me while in a structured and creative environment, and through duty days I got to observe and join in their first school experience. Ms. Jane is a calm and loving teacher who brings out the best in the children. It has been a wonderful and fulfilling part of our family’s life.”
"Ms. Jane is excellent with the children. Her patience and understanding with the kids are outstanding."
"A fun-filled introduction to learning in a supportive and well-structured environment. Ms. Jane is a wonderful resource and it's been a fantastic preparation for kindergarten. I know the skills my son is learning here will let him flourish in the classroom."
“Mother Goose offered my children structure and basic learning skills in a very fun and free environment.”
“An absolutely loving and nurturing environment that emphasizes the importance of a ‘village raising children’. "
