Mother Goose

Mother Goose Co-operative Preschool is a non-profit organization that has been active in the community of southwest Hamilton for over 40 years.

More than a school, our co-op is a community of parents joining together to support and encourage our children as they grow and develop. Mother Goose is a great transitional step for children to help them prepare for full time schooling.

Welcome

Mother Goose is a parent co-operative—a non-sectarian, inclusive, and non-profit preschool for children ages 2½ to 4 years. We operate five days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon throughout the academic school year.

Our school is led by two dedicated educators. As a co-op, parents and caregivers take an active role in the classroom by volunteering. Members typically volunteer two to three times per month, depending on enrollment and the calendar. Volunteers are valued participants who support exploratory play and meaningful interactions with all children. Their involvement is what makes our co-op a truly unique and collaborative learning environment.

In addition to classroom participation, member families share in the responsibilities of running the co-op, taking on roles such as committee work, administrative tasks, and other operational duties. This shared effort strengthens our community and ensures the continued success of the school.

Our program offers a warm and relaxed space where children are encouraged to explore, inquire, and connect. We emphasize positive, responsive interactions and believe deeply in the power of play. We view the environment as the “third teacher”—an essential part of the learning experience that supports children's curiosity and development.

As an integrated preschool, we are committed to inclusion. Our executive board, educators, and families work together to ensure that the individual needs of all children are understood, supported, and celebrated.
